I can’t remember how long ago butterflies became something I noticed, but I suppose maybe in elementary school when in science class we studied the life cycle from caterpillar to winged beauty. Recently we went to the Tennessee Aquarium where they had a butterfly sanctuary, but it was woefully under populated, I thought. In contrast, my gardens are quite literally buzzing with hosts of different types.
