My family has been growing Dahlias now for three generations. Beginning as far as I know with my Grandfather, Joe Hoss Owens, my namesake. Below is a photo from twenty-some years ago of my grandfather and son with some of his flowers.
My dad and his three brothers took on the love of Dahlias and even though only my dad’s oldest brother still raises these gorgeous specimens, my wife and I are also among the few family members who raise the beautiful species.
Here is a pink, purple and light orange dahlia in a vase.
